Great place to stay! We we there in the middle of winter - the hotel was cosy, warm and very central, as the name suggests! 'Jacko' was an excellent source of information of things to do, places to eat and he made us feel very at home. The continental breakfasts were substantial and the coffee excellent. more

Pros: - Central Location (as the name suggests) - Helpful staff (allowed us to change to cheaper room after we had already checked in) - Nice rooms with all standard amenities - Good buffet breakfast Cons: - None ** Make sure you check with them to make sure you have the cheaper room, we were in a more expensive room... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in early October while we were visiting Bellagio. I've never really stayed in a small, family run hotel, which has its benefits and disadvantages. Bellagio itself is absolutely lovely. Probably the most beautiful place I've ever visited. The location of the hotel here is tricky--we actually couldn't find it at first.... more

We had a great time in Bellagio. Our room was clean and quaint. The hotel is at the top of many, many steps and there is no way to get to the hotel from the boat dock, except to carry your luggage up the steps. There isn't a safe in the room and at night the room keys are left... more

We stayed here for three nights in September. Management and staff were helpful and were able to accommodate us for a previously un-reserved three night stay. We paid 90 euro for a very small but clean and comfortable room that faced the entry courtyard of the hotel - no frills, but good value. Breakfast was fine - the basics. The... more

We stayed for three nights from 26 August after visiting Milan and then travelled south. To start with Lake Como is spectacular. I am also glad I took advice from trip adviser and stayed out of Como city which appears to be an outer suburb of Milan. The lake does lose the city influence once past Como city and Bellagio... more

We enjoyed our first trip to Lake Como, and the reasonable pricing of Hotel Centrale was welcome among the fairly high prices of everything else. We booked in advance via e-mail and got a double room for 110E per night. The hotel was not very hard to find from the ferry dock, but it is up a flight of steps,... more

We stayed for two nights in the Hotel Centrale which is just 60 steps up from the ferry's landing. It is a lovely boutique hotel, family owned and operated, complete with grape arbor and outdoor garden. Our room had a small balcony. It is a perfect location, situated in the midst of shopping areas and nice restaurants (try Fontana Restaurant... more

Bellagio was the first stop for us on a self guided tour of Italy. We booked all our hotel stays in Italy with the help of TripAdvisor ratings and with only one exception, they were spot on. We went through the booking craziness that is the voucher system, this isn't the hotel's fault, just very common in Europe. Once I... more

Having stayed in the Centrale in June, my first reaction was that I was not all misguided by the various people who awarded it the highest accolades. I have recommended it to many people where they will sample the wonderful personal service provided by Giacomo and his family. It was so nice to have someone run the hotel who had... more
