Very poor quality of facilities and service, which is disappointing given the generally reasonable quality of NH hotels elsewhere in Europe. Among the many small inefficiencies and problems, which add up to make a poor overall experience, I found the following:
- the safes in the rooms do not work
- no free power sockets (have to unplug lights and...

While sightseeing in Trieste, Italy we noticed that the Jolly Hotel had been converted to a NH property and we decided to go inside and have a look at the changes. No sooner were we inside that a security guard approached us and followed us closely everywhere we went and soon started muttering things and became agitated when we paid...

Stayed at the NH Trieste for four nights while I attended a scientific workshop. The hotel is located in the center of the older part of the city , one block from the waterfront but the view is obstructed by a hideous old, abandoned brick building. The hotel also is within easy walking distance of the city hall square (a...

The first thing we encounterd was an upsell from the receptionist, to a bigger size room. Before we could answer, she offered an additional upsell, for unlimited wi-fi. First was €10 per night, then it went up to €15 per night. This on top of our €243 for two nights.
We then found out that the wi-fi in pulic areas...

We stayed one night at the NH Trieste and had a very comfortable room with a large, modern en suite. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with tourist advice and arranging services. Breakfast was included and was very good.

I know quite some NH Hotels and like their modern and clear style. Therefore I booked this centrally located NH but really was shocked when I saw the room: The room was absolutely oldfashioned nineties styled and run-down - far beyond the usual NH style. The water from the bath tub didn´t run, the purple hangings were ruined and the...

The hotel is right in the center of just about everything in Trieste: the train station, the port and Piazza dell'unita d'italia and even Trieste Cathedral (15 minute walk). Service is excellent with employees everywhere more than willing to please. However, the rooms need work with bathrooms that have mildew. No irons in the rooms which is a bit annoying...

Formerly a Jolly Hotel, it's now operated by NH Hotels, and we found the quality of the service in line with what an international chain may require from this Hotel.
We booked a superior double, which was huge, modern and very confortable (perhaps a bit too hot, though it was winter, to tell the truth).
Location-wise, great: literally 5 mins...

Old, dingy, moldy hotel of the lowest quality. The room (an "upgraded" superior deluxe) was so small you had to step over the desk chair to get to the other side of the bed. The room was a sauna with the heat turned off and the hotel informed us after the first night that the A/C is not turned on...
