I stayed at this hotel during the off season. It is beautifully located on the beach, walking distance from the center of town and near a number of restaurants. Seafood is very plentiful in this area and quite good. There were only a few guests so we were all moved into the upgraded rooms in the center of the hotel.... More

This is a fantastic classy hotel, but when booking beware. We went to the reception which is amazing then we were taken to another block 3 minute walk away from the main hotel. So if you think you are booking in the main building BEWARE. The room we booked was just okay a bit small and cramped but well stocked... More

I spent two nights in this amazing hotel in August 2012. My boyfriend picked this hotel. He told me that he used to stay here every summer. The moment I stepped in I can understand why he insisted on staying in the same hotel again after 20 years. The hotel is very classic. I really love the terrance and the... More

I went there when I was a kid. Luxurious, enormous and with a very kind personnel, everything you could have asked for an hotel - well worth the price of the thing. Plus, in a very central place in Rimini, at a short walk distance from everything else. Of course, it is not going to be cheap, but still. You... More

It was a good experience. Weather was perfect. The hotel itself has history and you feel it from the moment you enter it. Service was fine. Staff was friendly and cooperative. I guess it is the best hotel around Rimini.

I really enjoyed everything about this wonderful beach resort hotel. The service is excellent... Young people with a great attitude! The breakfast is huge with everything you could possibly imagine! Our room was more than adequate & the bath room was top shelf! We stayed in the annex which is not part of the main hotel building but in an... More

We visited the Grand many years ago and with such fond memories we decided to return. We weren't disappointed! The reception staff were excellent and so helpful. The buffet lunch on the beach every day was slightly disappointing @ 30 euros a head and It got a bit monotonous so we chose the lighter menu on the beach. We had... More

I stayed in the Grand Hotel last November. It had been under new management for some time. At the time it was a good hotel but not yet up to the required 5 star standard. The wall of the small single room had some cracks and tiles of the wooden floor were coming off. However service was very good and... More

Good points: Friendly helpful staff. Great restaurant, breakfast and dinner high quality, fresh foods beautifully served. Beach bar also good, buffet €30 but cheaper options on offer e.g. melon and parma ham or mozzarella and tomato €12. Dinner on the terrace with band and dancing every second evening, very chic! Italian and French people get dressed up so very elegant people-watching.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the Grand Hotel Rimini, welcome to charm! The Grand Hotel Rimini, the five star deluxe hotel which has always been considered as the symbol of "La Dolce Vita" on the Adriatic Riviera, is a magnificent building with more than a 100 years history. Inaugurated in 1908, a national monument since 1984, the Grand Hotel Rimini has always welcome a large number of celebrities: the tenor Caruso, the Duce Mussolini, Gorbatchev, Bush Senior, Federico Fellini and his wife Giulietta Masina, Lady Diana, Christian Barnard, Tony Blair, Sharon Stone, Albert of Monaco, Edward of Windsor and the Dalai Lama, just to mention a few. With the taking over of the Batani family in 2007, major renovation works have been immediately started following the criteria imposed by the Italian Ministery of Fine Arts and today the Grand Hotel Rimini is back to its ancient splendour, especially the mythical Liberty facade. New, precious materials such as travertine, onyx and white marbles from northern Italy beautifully combine with the renovated original parquet flooring and Venetian flooring in the ancient ballrooms, in a beautiful harmony between old and new, history and present time. The ambitious project will be completed with the setting of the famous domes that went destroyed during the terrible fire that broke out in July 1920.The Grand Hotel Rimini is defined by its guests as a "magnificent oasis of tranquility." It is surrounded by a luxuriant garden of centennial pine trees, olive trees and flowers and stands just a few steps away from the private beach of golden sand, with a kids’ swimming-pool, restaurant-bar and a wellness centre, open in summer time.At just one kilometre from the hotel, the historical centre of Rimini is the heart of luxury shopping and night life. Culture and the arts are also very well represented thanks to major international art exhibitions organized every year inside Castelsismondo, the several castles dating back to the Malatesta seigniory (1500) and extraordinary Roman remains.High oeno-gastronomy is the specialty of the house. The hotel’s ancient ball rooms are the beautiful setting to "La Dolce Vita" restaurant where the Chef Claudio Di Bernardo and his brigade are proud to welcome you. Simple, natural and wholesome qualify the chef’s strong passion for good cuisine. In summertime, dinner is served on the magnificent terrace overlooking the sea and the gardens. The atmosphere is unique: the gentle sea breeze, the excellent cuisine, the elegant orchestra playing romantic music on the backdrop of the famous Liberty facade... Just like one of the famous scenes from Amarcord by the great film-maker Federico Fellini! ... more   less
