As always, nice and clean. This time the problem was restaurant's staff. The waiter insisted to take the order even we talk on mobile!! Really unexpectable and unbelivable. The real reason was that kitchen shall be closed in 5 minutes,,, Staff need more training, Customer is the king....never forget this.

The Starhotel Excelsior is extremely well situated. It is opposite the main train station and the bus from the airport stops just outside too. It is a pleasant walk from the hotel to the city centre. We therefore found it very convenient for our trip to Bologna. The staff were generally helpful and the buffet breakfast was pretty good.

Located right outside the pedestrian only area of Bologna, we did not use the car at all while there (there's a paid covered garage nearby). Hotel decor is smart and functional. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food (at breakfast and lunch) was excellent. It was good value for the price. Location is great as train station + bus stop to the airport is right accross the street. Breakfast is very generous, extremely varied and delicious. Rooms are spacious and decor is ok. My wife and I stayed here 5 nights on our visit. Convenient, quiet, comfortable, rooms are good-sized, staff is friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was excellent. Modern stylish hotel with excellent rooms and stylish common parts. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Only gripe was that the wifi wasn't free but was illustrated as such on the website booked through. If staying in Bologna however, we would stay there again.
