They barely speak anything than Italian, but all the staff is extremely friendly and willing to help. There are very few tourists there.

There are metro stations nearby, and the area 300 meters north is quite mixed: shops/hairdressers/mechanics/banks/bars/... Not great in the evening, but interesting in the daytime (where you can also see Italian parking skills :-)

Note: the hotel restaurant is normally closed on Sunday evening. more
