Checked into a room that was so small.....the toilet was actually in the shower....so when you check in never take room 134....you will regret that one...asked for a room change and was actually surprised as we moved into a bigger room with a street view.staff very accomodating. easy access to the train station and plenty restaurants around.

I chose this hotel according to promotional photos and location near Termini station. Promotional photos are totally unreal, they perhaps come from another hotel! I booked the hotel through booking.com, with the same promo photos. What a pity. It all started with nasty indian receptionist, who refused to show us more rooms, did not accept our offer to pay more... More

This was a horrible place to stay at. In the room I stayed in, my toilet, while being in a very small room, doubled as a bidet (if you wanted to use it) and the shower was above this so you could use the toilet and shower at the same time. To top it all off, in the middle of... More

Stayed at the hotel July20-23. Three families, 2 quadruple rooms and one single. Our room was the biggest, as seen on the pictures, the other two were very small. A/C was available at an extra charge, blew very strong(we all got sick from the cold "wind") the room or bathroom was smelly a bit, but knowing that we r staying... More

We chose this hotel because of its location. We only had one night before catching a train. The pictures on the web are deceiving. The place was rundown and smelly once you left the lobby. The breakfast was mostly packaged items which was good considering that a roach crawled across the coffee machine. We will not stay in the Altavilla... More

Let me start off by saying that I always make the best of the situation. However, my wits were tested when I arrived at Altavilla in Rome. The room my wife and I booked looked more like a broom cupboard than a double room. The bed was a three quarter bed, which they tried to pass off as a double.... More

I stayed at Altavilla in 2005 together with some friends during high-school and for a group on a budget it was perfect. The rooms did need a serious makeover and the bathroom fan would go off loudly and randomly, but I remember enjoying a good breakfast and having no trouble sleeping. So for a budget alternative at a good location,... More

Having initially read some good reviews of this hotel when I booked it several months before our stay, I was alarmed to read, just before our departure, of some peoples' bad experiences. However, I must say that our experience was more than adequate. The rooms are admittedly a little tired and need updating and the toilet did double as a... More

I have booked the hotel after i read some of the good reviews on trip advisor. But now i wonder whether these people ever went abroad or maybe it was the staff and their friends who wrote the reviews. I was travelling with my family and we had a triple room which was akready small for two peaple let alone... More

We came in Rome without car so this hotel was right choice for us. When I choose accommodation in metro city, first and most important thing is to book it as much closer to the underground possible. Altavilla is that hit. Rooms are correct, nothing special, but for money value we booked are more then good. Service on reception was... More
