This is a lovely tradtional pensione in a beautiful apartment. It is advertised as central which I think is a tad generous. 45 minute walk to the Vatican is not central and it is a good 10 minute walk up hill from the nearest metro stop. It is close the to the Spanish Steps ( 10 minutes) and the Trevi... more

I found a great deal on Expedia for Martina House and it's a hidden gem because I didn't find it listed on other websites. A few days before our trip, Martina called us from Italy confirming our reservation, our arrival time and told us how to get to the B&B. That was such a nice personal touch and she definitely... more

great little pension in Rome city centre. Martina house is a 4 room pension in a nice apartment block just off the Via Vento [one of Rome's most elegant streets]. It is a great location in a very safe area. The Spanish Steps and the beautiful Villa Borghese park are both on the hotel doorstep and all of Rome's major... more

Excellent B&B. Close to Villa Borghese, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo. Just steps away from the glitz of Via Veneto on a quiet, safe street. Food stores, restaurants nearby. Beautiful room, modern bath. Gracious host serves a very nice breakfast and assists with all arrangements. We had a great time and wish we could return tomorrow. Grazie mille! more

What an amazing experience me and my wife have just had whilst staying at this hotel. Let's get down to basics first. When booking Martina House there is no guarantee that you will stay there. We booked three nights at Martina House. On arrival, we were brought to a nearby location on Via Marche. But don't let that put you off. If our room was a gauge of the quality on offer, then Martina House should... more

Martina House,Lazio,Rome,Italy. Date:September 2008 Reviewer:Family trip with friend, from Scotland. I have seen some dodgy reviews about Martina House and wanted to say to prospective travellers to please ignore them. Five of us have just returned from a four day break in Rome where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Martina House. Not only were we met by the lovely... more

really don't bother unless nothing else is available. We arrived about 9pm after travelling since 4pm to a grumpy lady who was not impressed she was having to wait for us as she lived elsewhere. Only thing she was interested in was getting cash payment up front, 'we can do the paperwork tomorrow as it's late'. The card machine wasn't... more

Surpassed expectations, excellent value, perfect location and the friendliest hosts. The period decor makes this room something very special (original 18th century doors etc). And the 800 channel satellite was pretty cool too (if you speak German or Arabic). The iron gated lift is the quaintest of features (though if you've more than a couple of large cases you'll need... more

I booked Martina House as a 4 star category. It might be too much to give them 2 star. It not a house but a flat in a building with several rooms. The entrance is gloomy and the lift very narrow. The inadequate breakfast was given at minimum doses. The furniture in the room my wife and I stayed is... more
