This hotel is set in a residential area on the edge of the tourist map. parts of the building are 200 years old - the hotel literature states that it was a Roman residence prior to becoming a monastery and latterly a hotel. We had a large but spartan room. However it was clean and had all we needed. The... more

We were greeted by a wide eyed receptionist who proclaimed she knew nothing about our booking, but we got the distinct impression it was all just a big hassle for her at 10.00 o'clock at night. After frantic calls to our travel agent which luckily for us we knew personally and was not the slightest bit botherd about getting out his... more

We stayed in this hotel twice during our trip and found it to be brilliant for the price we paid. It's actually part of a working monastery complex with an amazing church at the centre of it making it quite unique. The guys on the reception desk were very helpful and all other staff were very pleasant and helpful. We... more

Had a great 3-night stay here and can heartily recommend it as a great value place to stay which is pretty unique (you're basically staying in a monastery, yet you have all the facilities of a modern guest house). Attached to a beautiful and historic church, 10 mins' walk from St John Lateran, 20 mins from St Clement's and 25... more

We stayed at the Dormus Sessoriana, knowing that it was attached to Santa Croce en Gerusaleme. Our stay in Rome was to visit some of the famous sites, religious and secular. We wanted somewhere that would be quiet yet central enough to be a good base. Dormus Sessoriana didn't dissapoint these requirements. We also chose it because on eof us... more

We booked this hotel because it seemed a bit different - and we weren't disappointed in this respect. The building and its surrounding gardens/basilica are magnificent. The hotel however, is nothing special. It's just OK. The rooms were clean and acceptable, the breakfast was OK (continental style - with plenty to choose from). However, we came away feeling that this... more

This was a lovely respite from our daily touring of Rome - we walked miles and saw as much of the city as we could fit into the seven days we were there. We had a room on the fourth floor at the front of this hotel. There are two wings on one side of the basilica - Aurelian and... more

This hotel is in a wing of a Monastery of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme. It is attached to the Basilica and you enter the hotel by a door to the right of the church. The lobby is lovely and is very inviting. All staff speak some English. We were there May 25, 09 for two nights and... more

After reading the other reviews we asked that our hotel room be on the garden side, when we arrived we found our room over looking the road, the air conditioning not working and our bedroom that should have been three seperate beds was a double and a childrens sized bed! When we asked for something to be done we were... more
