This little hotel on a narrow Rome sidestreet is just a minute's walk from Via Veneto and Piazza Barberini, so it's near the Metro, the Spanish Steps, the Villa Borghesi. It's clean, well-run, offers an adequate breakfast. Our room didn't really have a window; elaborate drapes covered the wall, but the "window" was just a small portal at the ceiling,... more

We stayed for three nights 8/18-21 at Albergo Ottocento after a cruise that ended in Civitavecchia. The only weak points of the hotel are as follows: air conditioning in rooms could be better, howver, in their defense we were there when it was 109 degrees F, so I guess that any air conditioning may have not really cooled things off... more

This was our first stay in Rome and it was a perfect hotel. It was in a great location (within walking distance to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain). Staff was friendly and breakfast buffet was decent. I highly recommend staying here! Thank you, Albergo Ottocento! more

The Albergo Ottocento is an excellent alternative to the far pricier Hassler, which is nearer the top of the Spanish Steps but just a couple of blocks away from the Albergo Ottocento. The Albergo Ottocento is immaculately clean, with small but comfortable rooms and fairly luxurious bathrooms. (Even though the rooms are small, I give them five stars, because, after... more

Listen, if you are looking for an affordable, small boutique hotel located near the major sights in Rome, with a comfortable air-conditioned bedroom and a spacious bathroom, this is your place. It will certainly be mine whenever I am in Rome again. Yes, the breakfast is pretty dreadful, but we don't go to Rome to eat breakfast, and there is... more

Ottocento is in a perfect location -- minutes from the Piazza Barberini, Vio Veneto, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Via Del Corso. The reception staff is either wonderfully friendly or appallingly dismal and disinterested. At over 230 euros a night, there is no excuse for a lack of exceptional service. The breakfast is awful -- we switched to this hotel after... more

My husband and I travelled to Italy for our honeymoon in October of 2008, and Rome was our first stop. Albergo Ottocento was a beautiful hotel with friendly staff, and our room was always clean and fresh. One problem, though. His wedding ring was stolen. After searching high and low, we contacted the front desk and hours later, a cleaning... more

Clean and with free wi fi internet access. The staff were excellent and the breakfast more than adequate. The location is GREAT. Very convenient to many must dos for Rome. Can highly... more

I have just come back from staying at the Ottocento and would recommend this hotel to anyone. My room was typically small, as are most European rooms, however the bathroom was large (almost disproportionately to the room, but hey, I wasn't complaining) Everything was very clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful, and gave me heaps... more
