My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights as headed off for the hills of Umbria. The hotel is lovely and in a great location. It is unusual in that it occupies the upper floors of a building housing Vatican offices. The rooms are very well appointed but small. The staff is very helpful and the hotel... More

This hotel has a small, intimate feel with an environment that makes it easy to get to know other guests. It is about a 10 minute walk to the metro and walking distance to just about anywhere in the historic center, not to mention that it is directly accross the street from St. Peter's Plaza. Breakfasts are fresh and abundant.... More

This is a very good hotel. Staff is very helpful all the time and even like to talk to you even if you do not speak Italian. The location is excellent. It is simply aside Saint Peter's Church in the Vatican City. Rome does not have a good subway (it is very dirt and covers only a small fraction of... More

Stayed here for two nights recently. The hotel is on the upper levels of a shared building which is very quiet. There's enough signage to guide you through, but not really a great presence in the downstairs area. Staff were very pleasant and all spoke English thankfully (since I didn't know much Italian). People have commented that the rooms are... More

This hotel is perfectly located as it is close to St. Peter's Square. I counted my steps from the gate of this hotel to the closest pillar in St. Peter's Square, it took me 20 steps and I have short legs, this would be less for someone with bigger steps. There is a lovely rooftop garden that is open from... More

Terrific place to stay if you want to spend time at the Vatican. Very quiet location. Rooms were very small...even by Europe standards. Shower was extremely small. Wifi was just OK. Excellent breakfast. More

My husband and I enjoyed our first trip to Rome as we arrived on Oct. 22, 2010. We were fortunate to stay at the Residenza. Not only is Residenza Paolo VI right across the street from Vatican Square, but guests may view the lighted Square at night from a convenient, charming balcony. Although we were told that "dinner" was not... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a double room. The main reason to stay at this hotel is the proximity to the Vatican. The double room was quite small but comfortable. A couple of luggage racks for our suitcases would have made the smaller space easier to cope with. The bathroom was ok but would have been better if it... More

This was my 3rd stay at Paolo VI in one year. Stefanie, Laura, Nicoletta are the best in front office help. The view of St. Peter's is spell binding. The helpfulness of the staff is beyond compare in Rome. The location is perfect for touring not only St. Peter's, but also having access to all the tour routes in Rome.... More

We had a nice stay with good service and traditional European breakfast. Since we were there only for 2 nights (on the way to Amalfi Coast), I think we could have found something better near the Termini station at a better value (we paid 170 euros a night for a double). Pros: Right next to the Vatican/St Peters Basilica if... More
