Reading the reviews of this hotel prior to my departure cause me some distress. However, this was all relived the moment my wife and I stepped through the door! The older gentleman working the reception was very nice, and recommended the best restaurant in Rome, Il Tempio di Minerva!! The room was quite large compared to most roman hotel rooms,... More

The Donatello was the hotel that was part of our package from the travel agency we booked with. After reading reviews online and checking the area out on Google maps, we thought we were in for the worst of it. We were pleasantly surprised when we actually got to the hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the hotel... More

I was hesitant after reading some reviews, to stay at this hotel. But, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is of the "boutique" variety, not large, but very pleasant. The rooms are lovely and of a decent size. The breakfast is minimal; coffee, juice and rolls. The location is not bad at all. Easy walk to the subway, and very... More

We had a prepaid reservation and ended up spending to stay at a hotel in a better location. Unless you plan on taking the subway the entire time you are in Rome, the location is far from the center of town and there are very few restaurants and bars nearby. Upon checking in the concierge was extremely rude and refused... More

Booked lastminute on a website a double room with bathroom, for half price. Good value for money, but the normal price, in my opinion, is too expensive! Just 10 minutes away from Termini Station on foot, very well served by bus, and five minutes away there is a subway station. It is a 3 star hotel, the outside looks a... More

You can walk to this hotel from the train station, it will only take about 20 minutes. The room was nice, as was the hotel staff, but the area is not safe. The buildings are covered with graffiti, men loiter in the streets while drinking from paper bags, and police sirens blare all night long. If I had to do... More

Let me preface this by saying I paid $150 for three nights. I have stayed in more expensive hostels. Positive: super cheap if your lucky, location isn't horrible as long as your willing to walk 15 minutes to the sites, breakfast (cafe) is complimentary, close to osteria angelina, and rooms are quaint. Negative: breakfast is served in a dungeon, our... More

The Donatello is not what I would call a hotel. Let me explain: there's a line of trash dumpsters on the sidewalk close by. The Donatello is only one more of those dumpsters: it's claustrophobic and you are treated like garbage. The difference is that I guess the breakfast at the dumpsters may be slightly better. Don't waste your time... More

I stayed for 3 nights in December 2010. The rooms are tiny. I could not rotate my suitcase. I would recommend it only to tourists who have tours booked with their agents and who have pickup and drop off as it is difficult to get to the main city centre from this hotel. The surrounds of the hotel are unsound... More

Our room was very clean and comfortable. No schedule for the TV channels...asked at the desk for one...said we just have to scroll through the channels....The breakfast was very poor...only rolls and coffee. The hotel is not siutated in a very nice area....I felt uncomfortable, especially after dark. The front desk personel were not helpful or friendly. If we wanted... More
