On arrival at this hotel we were informed that the local authorities had closed 5 out of the 10 rooms so the hotel management had booked us into an alternative hotel. This alternative hotel (Embassy) was a 3 * hotel and was filthy so we refused and, after many phone calls, the travel agent found an acceptable alternative. more

We've traveled through Europe quite a bit and are used to the small rooms and minimal amenities. Palio Bianco was fine - if you pay under 100 euros/night and simply want a place to sleep and a quick shower. It is not a 4 star hotel and you should not pay more than 100 or even 80 euros a night... more

We were told this was a four-star hotel. More appropriately, it should have been described as a place you could rent a room by the hour. Yes, it does have an excellent location but there are a lot of excellent hotels in the same area. The room we were shown to had stains on a carpet which had not been... more

I was there in March of 2003. The hotel is located in the perfect spot for walking tours all over the city. Everything was within walking distance. The hotel itself being at the most famous landmark of Rome, The Spanish steps, was wonderful. With all of the famous shopping streets ending at the hotel everything was within reach. I would recomend... more

We stayed in the Palio Bianco in September 2003. The location is fantastic and our room looked out right over the Spanish Steps. The noise didn't bother us because the windows have double glazing and it was quiet when they were closed. It is a great, homey hotel and for the price (internet discount) was well worth it. However, our... more

We stayed at the Palio Bianco after a 7-day Italian cruise. The hotel is located on one floor of a building adjacent to the Spanish Steps. The room was very comfortable and continental breakfast was delivered to our room daily. Just open the window and view the life on the steps. From the hotel, it's an easy walk to all... more

We had a very pleasant stay at Palio Bianco for 4 nights in November, 2003. Our room looked out to the Spanish Steps and we enjoyed watching the people come and go or just sitting and having a good time. The location is excellent, a Metro right around the corner, easy access to many Rome attractions, great shopping at Via... more

By NO means is this a 4 star hotel - the location is terrific, but the staff left alot to be desired. The rooms are small, bathrooms could have been cleaner. The staff moved changed our room on the second night so that they could offer our great view to the next unsuspecting guests. We were transferred to a room... more

We stayed at the Palio Bianco Spanish Steps November 1 - 4, 2003 and had a wonderful experience in a great location. The hotel is right next to the Metro stop for easy access to the Colleseum or the Vatican, and there is a cab stand out front. There are many food and beverage options nearby, plus fine dining and... more

We stayed there from Nov. 07 to Nov. 17, 2003. The hotel is very centrally located next to the Spanish Steps near attractions, cafes, shopping and the American Express office. It was tastefully decorated, quaint, very clean, small as most European hotels are. The staff were the friendliest people we met in Rome. The continental breakfast was brought on time and... more
