We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights booked via Expedia in their standard room. We were given room 105 which was on the first floor near the breakfast room. Room was clean with a two single beds joined together. The mattress was completely sunken in where previous guests had slept which made lying down feel quite uncomfortable. The toilet... more

I was so glad to stay at the Diplomatic. Walking in Rome is the way to see the city - unexpected encounters with history all the time. It is close to the river and the wonderful recently restored Ara Pacis. Staff were great, room a refuge after tramping about! more

I don't know how it all works but we were on the top floor and as such, had a balcony looking out onto the street. From what I could work out, only about half the rooms have these balconies. So that was a definite plus. However, because of various factors, you can only actually see anything if you are standing... more

Great hotel in a perfect location. All sights were well within walking distance, the furthest we had to walk was the colosseum which was a 30 minute slow walk. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Rome. Rooms were clean and the staff were more then helpful and spoke very good English. more

Can't fault my stay at the Diplomatic, especially at the cheap price as I booked at the very last second through expedia. Very happy with my room, it was clean and modern, the air con did the job in days of 32c+ temperatures and the shower was excellent. There is a minibar in the room - handy during hot weather,... more

I originally book a hotel room in the Ara Pacis hotel just opposite of the Hotel Diplomatic, but after reading some terrible reviews I changed my reservation to this hotel. And I´m glad I did. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they can help you with anything. The rooms are decent sized, and very clean (which is difficult... more

We just returned from a stay at the Hotel Diplomatic. From the very start it was nothing but excellent. Our flight from the States got in before 9 and we were at the hotel by 10am. Our room was not ready so they stored our bags for us. We did some sightseeing nearby and came back an hour later. Our... more

The hotel has become a popular stay, so they over book. Thats what happened to us. They moved us to a shaddy nieghborhood by the train station to their sister hotel. It was located next to a strip club and the hotel was under construction from 7am to 4pm. I explained that I did not want to stay at this... more

I returned to the Hotel Diplomatic for a three-night stay last week - my second time at this hotel. The venue is excellent - just a 10 minute walk across the river to the Spanish Steps and the centre of town, plus a lovely 5-10 minute walk along the river to the Castel Sant'Angelo and St Peters. The hotel itself... more

The first day we got there they had overbooked so they shuttled us to another one of their higher star hotels. While we waited for the shuttle they treated us to drinks and free internet. After one night, we came back to the Hotel Diplomatic. Since we had went to the other hotel for our first night, they upgraded our... more
