After traveling by car from Siena to the Rome airport to drop off our rental car and taking a taxi to the hotel arriving around 9:30pm, they tell us that we don't have a reservation. I had my written confirmation showing them that the room was paid for for two nights. Sorry, we are full and cannot take you. Finally,... More

The room was smelly and dingy, but for the price it was what to be expected. The main problem is the neighborhood. It is near the main train station and low life degenerates were everywhere. I felt them sizing me up to see if they can mug me or take advantage of me. I am from a rough neighborhood in... More

We stayed at the Ambra Palace for 4 nights our room was spotless and clean we had clean bedding every day and clean white fluffy towels. There was a kettle to make tea and coffe which was supplied for you. Our room was at the back and very quiet although it looked on to the back of a lot of... More

Pros: a) near Termini central train station (accesible via Leonardo Express train from the airport). Also accesible via Metro and bus lines. b) friendly staff, took their time to explain how to reach attractions, point out good restaurants. c) room was comfortable, nice, well decorated. d) breakfast buffet is OK. e) free wifi, free safety box, Cons: - neighborhood is... Central location is the best feature of the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. However, I thought the room was poor for the price and it either did not state or I failed to notice the lack of a bath, only a shower in our rooom. At this price I expected more and have stayed in other capital cities for this... More

After our less-than-stellar experience as "first class" (yeah, right, sure) passengers on the night train from Paris to Rome, this hotel came as a huge surprise. The room was gorgeous and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes, it's in a rundown part of town and there are lots of people living there who do not appear... More

The hotel has a nice feel once you enter the lobby. The rooms are small by U.S. standards, but normal for European. The bed was not comfortable by any standard and the shower stall was quite small, with intermittent hot water and low water pressure. As a "homebase" for touring Rome, it worked well for our visit. If you rely... More

This hotel was one of the best on our 10 day tour. We were assigned a "superior" room by luck and it was great. A corner room with front and side windows and a full bathroom that included a jacuzzi tub and plenty of room. What a releif from the stall showers that you could hardly turn around in. The... More

I used the Best Western Ambra Palace Hotel as my home base when visiting Rome and couldn't have made a better choice! As a woman traveling by herself, this is a bold statement for me to make. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more informative, the room was clean and perfect for my needs, and the food was amazing!... More
