We researched for nearly 4 months before purchasing our vacation. We narrowed it down to a few hotels, but we were so so so so happy and delighted with our choice. This hotel is everything people say it is plus more! The Location of this hotel is litterally about 100 yards from St. Peters Square. Right around the corner from... More

I'm usually skeptic about big brand chain hotels, since hospitality is standardized and set for a large panel of guests. Nothing extraordinary or remarkable, usually. This is not true for Michelangelo Hotel. Ok, what does really matters in hospitality industry? Position, position, position! As a great and famous italian Hotel Manager used to repeat at hospitality conventions. But not only... More

Couldn't have been happier with the position .......our room backed onto a lane that was quite noisy early due to a Greengrocer stocking up each day .As with most hotels we have found in Europe the heating was oppressive but here you could open the windows to cool, down .breakast was fantastic too More

Stayed here for 5 nights in November. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms etc.. are very clean. The breakfasts were nice but we were a bit fed up of Bacon and Scrambled egg by the end!! We didn't eat in the hotel as the prices were a bit prohibitive in the restaurant. We went to the bar for a... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff was mostly very courteous and helpful (one older gentleman, named Claudio, was a little gruff and condescending). Our room was not luxurious, and had no particular view, but was clean and comfortable. The breakfast which was included in our room rate was wonderful, with eggs, bacon, and all kinds of fruit,... My husband and I stayed here for five nights during our honeymoon in August 2011. We were in Italy and Greece for just over two weeks and this was our least favorite hotel. The room was OK by Rome standards I suppose (think Holiday Inn). Location Pros: Amazingly close to the Vatican. It was really nice to get an early... More

So I'm in the fence with this hotel. I will explain the way I rated the different categories. OVERALL-AVERAGE.... My opinion not bad not great close to Vatican city but my main gripe was We could here people in other rooms crystal clear. We opened our door a few times thinking people were being loud in the hallway but we... More

First of all, this hotel has the worst staff I have ever seen in a hotel. When I asked the staff about driving down to the Almafi Coast, rather than getting the answer I was seeking; I got a lecture about how foolish tourists drive there all the time and find trouble. The cleanliness of the rooms was not very... More

Recently renovated and upgraded, the Star Michelangelo is a wonderful base from which to operate in Rome - a couple of blocks from St. Peter's, lots of restaurants, shopping, and close proximity to joining up with all of the major tour buses (just outside St. Peter's Square). More
