This hotel is a rare jewel set in beautiful Trastevere. A room facing the courtyard is best although facing the street is a beautiful experience too. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms spacious. The location can not be beaten, the rooms can be large (although that is uneven), and the service is spotty. On my last stay, internet was not available and the staff didn't seen to care or make an effort to help me locate a place with internet access; staff does not keep train schedules and can't help with train schedules.... This was a very nice hotel is the growing, now trendy, Trastevare neighborhood. It's on a tiny side-street just around the corner from the Piazza Tri Lussa (which is next to a bridge across the Tiber - so you can pop right into the heart of Rome on foot). In Trastevere, waLking distance to everything in Rome. On a quiet side street close to a wide range of restaurants. Rooms are simple, but clean, a/c works. We stayed at Casa San Giuseppe for 4 days in late November...three families with teens and pre-teens. Fantastic location for walking everywhere...Vatican in 20 minutes, Roman ruins in 15 minutes. Campo da Fiori in 10 minutes, great restaurants and bars everywhere. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. But the management still haven't fixed the two minor details the... More
