We have just returned from a weeks holiday in the Grand Hotel Riviera, Sorrento. This was our first trip to Italy, so were unsure what to expect. This hotel will not suit everyone. If you like your daily dose of burgers and chips washed down with 10 pints of larger, this hotel will probably not appeal to you. If you... More

Excellent hotel. Very friendly staff. Went half board and the food was excellent with plenty of choice. Stayed two weeks and the menu was never repeated. Views from the terrace bar are amazing and the centre of sorrento is a very short stroll away. Booked through Thomson and the rooms didn't have much of a view which was the only... More

stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. hotel and rooms very clean, beds are very hard though! food good although you don't get that much for dinner and breakfast is just cereal, fresh fruit and cakes don't really get much of a 'full english'! more of an older generation hotel. Sorrento is lovely and would recommend doing the Almafi coast... More

Just spent last week of April at the Riviera. The hotel was immaculate and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly (thankyous to Ciro, Claudio, Davide, Gennaro and Gianni for making our stay so enjoyable). Some of the menus were perhaps appear a little quirky to a british pallet but there was always something tasty to pick,... More

We stayed end of April and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, especially the restaurant team. This is despite travelling with a noisy 1 year old! Very stylish hotel, lovely food and absolutely stunning view from balcony (worth upgrading)- wouldn't hestitate to recommend to anyone. More

We took our 12 year old grandaughter to see the many local sites. The view across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius is spectacular. The staff were, without exception, all very helpful, especially Ciro on reception who was outstandingly helpful in advising us on how best to maximise the benefits of our fairly short stay. The veranda sits right on... More

This is the first time we have stayed in this hotel and we were not disappointed at all. We travelled on a package with Citalia and upgraded our room to a sea view. Our balcony overlooked the bay of Naples with Vesuvious looming in the background. It was worth paying extra to watch the sunsets every night. The room we... More

One of the highlights of our European vacation. Friedly and very helpful staff but Cisco was our favourite :) Thanks for an amazing time GHRiviera! For anyone travelling to Sorrento during the warmer seasons, keep this in mind when picking a hotel: 1: Almost ALL of the beaches in Sorrento are "PRIVATE" beaches. You will have to pay a certain... Room was large, clean and bright. We had paid for a sea view and balcony which did not disappoint, and the situation of the hotel was such that we had no traffic noise. The room could have been provided with better facilities such as tea/coffee making, a clock, and some sports channels on the TV, but surprising nowadays wifi was... More
