I was recommended to stay here as it was conveniently located and relatively cheap. By cheap I mean basic - this is, after all, nothing more than a youth hostel so don't expect a TV or mini-bar. The room was compact, clean, and yes the shower cubicle was tiny. I was disappointed to be overlooked by the cleaners two days in a row (something I'd paid for in advance). There wasn't a window in my room as such, just a wooden shutter - which, because it was 24ºC at night, I had to keep open and let in all the noise from outside (and believe me there was plenty of it out there).

This was the only hostel we stayed in on this trip. It was cheap (45 euros for a double en suite) but the real reason for staying there was the opportunity to stay in the 16th century convent.

The room we got on the top floor was simply furnished with twin beds. There was a big window looking out over the town and the courtyard of the convent below. The beds were quite firm.

The bathroom was clean, but the shower was very small - I'm not big but I was scared that I would put my elbow through the plastic panels whenever I moved. Water was always hot.

There was a large group of teenagers there at the same time as us. This is to be expected at hostels - but it does mean more noise than hotels, and breakfast was a little chaotic the next morning (not that it was very good). Checkout is also usually quite early - I think it was 10 am.

For the chance to stay in the building the place is definitely worth it. The money you save can pay for a little luxury...
