Matera is a wonderful place but I would not recommend this hotel. We loved our room. It was very cleverly done. Beautifully restored to be in keeping with the original contadino dwellings, and yet kitted out with very high quality bathroom fittings. We loved this place! Not only is it romantic and dramatic, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Too bad they didn't have a restaurant otherwise we would have never left. The views are stunning, and staff very accommodating. More
