I visited Madrid at the start of September - the Hostal could be a little tricky to find the first time but once you find it (not far from the bus or metro stop) you won't miss it again. The rooms were very tidy - well decorated and cosy for a single person and/or a couple that are looking for... More

Location: Great, in Gran via, walking distance to many of the attraccions and main sights. Grand building. Cleanliness: Good enough. Shower was leaking, they didn't change the towels in 3 nights.I think that the cleaner had a lazy weekend. Service: very nice people, friendly and helpful. Value: we couldn't find a double room so we had to stay on a... More

This hostal is very decently priced but you are getting what you are paying for. The rooms are tiny, but cozy(ish) and very clean. It was nice to have a private bath. The downside is that the hostal itself is has thin walls and thus can be very loud if people are in the halls. On the upside the location... More

this hostal was in a great location, walking distance to most of madrid and very close to both metro and bus stops. the only downside is the very small bathrooms and the badly maintained shower. its quite easy to overlook the size of the bathroom if they were well maintained. they were in working condition but the shower handles and... Nice hotel situated in very center. It is 5 minutes walking till plaza del Sol. Thу room was good, but a little bit small for 3 persons. WC is clean, but small. Wi-fi is working great, also you have small balcony where you can smoke. By nights you can't hear a noise from a street, but on the morning it... More

This hostel is in a great location and felt secure. However the room we stayed in was next to the reception area and it was noisy until 11.30pm when the staff went home. The telephone was on the other side of the wall to the room and was ringing into the early hours of the morning. The people in the... More

We had a great experience at Hostal La Plata. The room was small, but adequate and clean. The linens are worn and old, but clean and sufficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location can't be beat--just 1/2 block from a major metro stop and within walking distance of many sights, but in a safe and secure building. We... More

For a great location, then you might choose La Plata but remember it's just a hostel. The rooms had no heating in January (the wall mounted unit didn't work) but fortunately the heated extract air from the restaurant on the ground floor was pumped through the steel tubes running up the 3m by 5m 'courtyard' outside our 6th floor room... This Hostal is clean enough if a little tatty in parts and the staff are pleasant. The location is good and as the rooms face away from The Grand Via so do not suffer from the noise of the traffic. That said there is very little sound proofing in the rooms so if you are a light sleeper you will... More

Staff were very pleasant and nice. Hotel is in a building which has a number of small hotels in it. Close to Grand Via metro stop. My room was on the second floor and there is a small internal staircase which you have to carry your bags upstairs. Room was reasonable for what I was paying. I had a twin... More
