I visited Madrid with my sister in March 2013 and decided to stay in the Hostal Pereda even though the reviews on Trip Advisor were varied. As students we were on a budget and was planning on spending a four days in Madrid shopping and sightseeing. The hotel was in a perfect location, on the Gran Via, with a great... More

We spent one night in Hostal Pereda, January 30/February 31, in a double room with balcony, and paid 45 eur/night/room. The hotel is perfectly located at the exit of the metro station Gran Via, on the second floor of one of the monumental building that line the street (entrance is on via Valverde, around the corner of the Sphera shop... This hostel is clean and very quaint with buckled hardwood floors and rooms with wrought iron balconies that overlook a busy street. It is right across from the subway which is great for getting around. However, the entrance to the hostel is off a side street and there were always at least three prostitutes sitting outside the door. Half a... More

It was relatively cheap to stay here, considering it's located just off Gran Via with access to everything on your doorstep. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The hallways were quaint and like something out of a vintage postcard. There was no aircon but we managed to buy a fan (which made it's way to friends thereafter). The room... More

I had a great experience at this hotel last weekend. Top position just around the Gran Via, in a calm, narrow street few metres away from Fuentcarral. I booked a double room with insuite bathroom. Everything perfect. Clean, lot of space available, very kind receptionists. The room was on the 7th floor. It was gorgeous! We could see from our... More

This is the cheapest hotel that I could find in this neighborhood. As already has been mentioned the location is great. Could be easily reached by metro from the airport (gran via station located in about 50 meters from the hotel). There is an elevator in the building, so no worry about the stairs. The room is clean, seems to... More

Stayed there for three nights in two rooms for my family. They have an elevator and the same building has another hostal along with privately owned units. No A/C but had fans. My son enjoyed watching Disney Channel-Spain. Funny watching Phineas and Ferb. We arrived as WYD started. Went to my son's room to see all the youth walking and... More

Stumbled into the Pereda after my flight into Madrid; the price was decent for 2 people and the room was clean and comfortable, the building secure (you have to buzz in from the stairwell and buzz into the building at night. Location is great; right next to the Gran Via Metro stop. However, the Gran Via can get loud at... More

Was about what we expected. Right on the central bit of Gran Via. Easy to get anywhere. Room was clean even though it was a bit "worn" (Like me really). Saved us about £100 based on the accommodation our friends were staying at a couple of blocks away. Had a balcony overlooking the GranVia. Only drawback was the hot water... More

We went for a 5 day break to Madrid. Having been before and stayed with family we were lucky to know where most things were and what to do. Hostal Pereda is in a perfect location right on Gran Via meaning you could walk to most places if you wanted to. (The metro station is right outside though which means... More
