We spent a long weekend in May in Madrid and stayed in this hotel. Good service, very quiet room (facing backyard) and great location, just 100m from Puerto del Sol and all central attractions. Rooms decor is authentic, high seiling and spacious. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Staff at the reception is very sympathetic and speak English. Price/quality ratio... More

the hotel is well positioned close to puerta del sol. the room I got faced the inner court - no issues with noise but not nice view as well. The room space is fine, the furniture old style with very '80 wallpaper. Probably the bedsheets had the same age, yellowish and worn - need a replacement!

Location is great, very near Sol.Many food shop nearby. The price is affordable.Very clean room.Small elevator. The woman at the reception is cold and not patient to guests(the other two men is better and polite than her,but overall giving the impression courtesy more than a lack of enthusiasm). They don't allow guests to do washing in the bathroom,OK,I can understand, but I just washed... Great price (€43 a night) for double room with en-suite, nice shower and aircon. Quiet and very clean. High speed wifi available for free. Very friendly , pleasant staff. Convenient - 5 min walk to Plaza Sol and metro, 10 mins to Prado. Close to loads of great restaurants. Highly recommended and would stay there again.

In many Spanish situations the lack of speaking English is hopeless. On arrival at this hotel it was different, however? Do they have handouts? The little English she spoke was enough to subscribe and make one feel comfortable. Did the elderly lady on duty on our morning of arrival understood our questions or not; we left our lugguage in a... More

We stayed here for 10 nights and found the hotel extremely well positioned to Sol, Plaza Mayor, Prado, etc. It's a bargain for the old warm charm of the place. Sure the walls are thin and neighbors can be heard at times but that's Spain generally. lively neighborhood with lots of good tapa and copa bars. Good security. Have been... More
