We stayed here for a city break last year. We were given a standard double room with the window facing the inside of the property. This was more like a bed and breakfast and it turned out to be a lovely place to stay. Fantastic location. Hostal Granvia was based right next to the main shopping area and a short... More

I love hostal Grand Via and recommend it to everyone i know visiting Madrid! Me and my friend (both of us female, 22years old) stayed here in April 2010 for 3 nights. Amazing location on the main shopping/touristic road of Madrid. the room was lovely and spacious and we had our own shower and sink- but had to share the... More

This was our first time staying at the Hostal Gran Via 44 and i was pleasantly surprised. The Hostal Gran Via is centrally located and within walking distance to a bulk of the main attractions (i.e. Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol). The metro station is right in front of the building and there is plenty of shopping and restaurants right... More

I booked Hostal Gran Via 44 based on the reviews on tripadvisor but having now seen the place, I have no idea how it got so many good reviews. Our room was filthy. The floor was covered in dead bugs, pubic hair and even used tissues and obviously hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The beds were dusty and... More

Hostal Gran Via 44 was nice and clean hostel. The man who was working there was very kind and friendly and could speak some english. There was only one toilet for three rooms to share, but it was allways available. It was clean but sometimes the toiletpaper run out and you had to go find more..We got new clean towels... More

Overall, this is a fine place to stay if mostly you're just looking for a bed for the night. It's in a great location, very close to several Metro stops. Rooms were clean; we had a sink and shower in our room, and the toilet was down the hall. Staff were friendly and helpful; none we encountered spoke English. The... More

This hotel is a mixture between a hotel and a hostel. It is a bit better than a hostel and certainly worse than a hotel. Advantages: 1) Fantastic location. Right next to the tube station, walkable distance to all the attractions. Fantastic. 2) The rooms were really clean and freshy decorated. 3) Decent price for Madrit, especially when you shop... More

This small hotel is ideally positioned to explore Madrid and is right in the centre of the busiest area for shopping and nightlife. The owners are a very nice couple and although they do not speak english they can communicate through their computer translator to be able to understand our needs There is free internet which is very fast and... Nice and cozy hostel, very centrally located, in a safe area. People there speak limited English but they are helpful and someone can deal with them easily. The room was very tidy and clean, it had a douche and a washbasin. The shared WC was very clean too. In general, it was good looking, clean, tidy and I highly recommend... More

Hostal lived up to my expections for what we paid. Breakfast was included in price which was basic but edible. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Unfortunately the rooms were noisy as hostal located right next to main road in central madrid. Staff were helpful and friendly. Hostal located on 8th floor so as a group of female travellers we felt... More
