A small guesthouse on a fourth floor of a residential house right in the city center on Gran Via, handy to all main sites. We had a twin room during our stay with parquet floor and shower en suite. Although shower room was separated from the room itself, its walls didn`t reach up untill ceiling, so it was not very... More

San Martin is within 3 minutes walk from Callao metro station. Very central and convenient. However, the room we had was not good. There is a shower cubicle inside the room with see-through panels! My friend and I felt really awkward. We had disrupted sleep because we could hear loud water running noises from next door. Very thin walls. If... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hostel for 5 nights and were extremely pleased with the location and service provided. Hostal San Martín takes up an entire floor of an apartment block on a street just off Madrid's bustling Gran Vía. Despite its proximity to such a noisy street, however, the actual road on which it is situated (Calle... More

Walkable from Callao Metro station. Maybe a little hard to find, in a small side street opposite a cafe and Chinese Restaurant. You can take the tour bus on the Main street. (in front of Burger King) Shopping, museums and restaurants all walkable. Most staff do not speak English but are really nice and friendly, willing to help where possible.... More

This was the best value hostal that I found in Madrid. The rooms are basic and clean with nice wood floors and they were cleaned daily. The building has an elevator, and the location is very good near Gran Via and the Callao metro station. I was pleased that the hallways and common areas were kept well-lit which is not... More

the hostal is very central, value for price, it´s clean, has free internet and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful with everything (we stayed there at the beginning of our exchange semester while looking for a flat in Madrid, and the staff even helped us with finding a flat, reserved a table & ordered food for us at a... While this Hostal was a little difficult to find, it was exactly what I was looking for. I had a single private room (separate bathroom) for only 40 Euros. The accommodations were basic but very clean. The location can't be beat, it was no more than a 15 minute walk to any major points of interest. What really blew me... More

Great location and very clean, but HOT in summer-- no air conditioning, and small rooms. More

I stayed here for a weekend after having found it on HostelWorld.com. I really liked this hostel for the following reasons: - it was very well-located close to a central metro station (Callao) but my room faced the courtyard so was quite quiet - the decor was old but charming and the place was very clean - it was cheap,...
