Nice rooms and comfortable beds after a long day of travelling. We didn't have food in the restaurant but the hotel is right beside Calle Laurel which was perfect and there are lots of nice bars and cafes on Calle Portales. Only bad thing was the view..a wall as we where at the back of the hotel but everything else...

This is a lovely, smart, modern hotel in the old town, big room, comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, big work desk (with free hi-speed wifi), minibar with water, soft drinks and beer: very nice indeed. Best of all is the location. The view from my room (603 - right next to the lift!) was a pretty paved square below with trees...

This was my second stay during San Mateo at the Hotel Portales - and I've already booked for this year! Hotel is relatively new and quite clean. Staff at front desk were very friendly. The room itself was quite large with a good amount of shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries. The bathroom had a nice mirror for makeup...

Nothing special about this hotel but clean, very good location despite the fact that it might be hard to find but thanks to other reviewers, we found our way thru the pedestrian street, which you might think that you can't drive there. The hotel has a very good location for visiting old town with Calle Laurel and the surrounding streets...

We stayed 3 nights at Portales Hotel, giving us more than enough time to sample the pintxos delights of Logrono and squeeze in a day trip to Laguardia.
The hotel is located just a minute away from the food highlights - Calle del Laurel and Calle San Juan - very handy!
It's a business-style hotel, so no frills or character,...

Very clean and modern hotel with great bathrooms. Very good location in central Logrono only a couple of minutes walk from some of the best tapas bars in Spain.
But almost impossible to find by car, needing access down streets which seem to be pedestianised (but aren´t). We spent over an hour looking then parked nearby and went to the...

Perhaps you only get what you pay for and the Portales was about 55 Euros a night. It was like a standard British Premier Inn but not as good! The positives: a reasonably comfortable bed/pillow and the location on the nice main street of the old town.
Negatives: staff were offhand, unprofessional and unhelpful (except the cleaning lady). We asked...

I had been walking the Camino Frances & staying in albergues for over a week when I got to a town close to Logrono & found everything completely full. I took the bus to Logrono from there, then walked around the old quarter looking for a place to stay. Couldn't find anything, so followed the Camino through the old section...
