Hotel Costa Vella was perfect for a short stay in Santiago de Compostela. Right from the time I started receiving emails from Roberto, I knew this was the hotel for us. It is so pretty and quaint and the coffee on arrival was welcomed and very good. Breakfast was simple but very nicely served. It consisted of good, traditional bread,... More

I loved this place. It has a beautiful garden. The people are really concerned about great service and making you satisfied with your stay. The location is excellent, close to everything. My bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and modern. This is a very well cared for, charming property. They serve breakfast on the property and if the weather is... More

Are there any reasons not to stay at the Hotel Costa Vella when you visit Santiago? There may be two, which you should know about if you can't climb stairs or survive without air-conditioning. The three-storey hotel has no elevator (although the staff are pleased to bring up your bags) and fresh air comes via your window. That said, I... More

Our experience started in the arrival. Robert greeted us with his passion and friendliness. He talked to us about the city and places to visit ( they have a great book with suggestions and recommedantions ). Really, he was very very helpful. The room booked was gorgeous with a gallery facing toward San Francisco. Amazing breakfast. Unforgettable to drink a... More

I stayed only one night in Santiago de Compostela after a few nights in a hostal in Madrid. I arrived early in the morning, around 9am, and was greeted by the most welcoming concierge and staff that I have ever experienced on my numerous travels in Europe! Immediately; the concierge offered me a coffee, a map, and detailed instructions for... More

Our stay at this charming little hotel was our first weekend in Spain. It started off our vacation perfectly. In fact we thought Santiago was our favorite city in part because of the Hotel. First class service, they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Helpful directions and restaurant choices. They even had our favorite table ready... More

Costa Vella its a charming hotel in Santiago old city. Very well located, beautiful garden, great common areas. The staff was very nice and friendly with great tips of where to eat. The breakfast is a must that you shouldnt loose. The only drawback was the room facing the pedonal street, with some noise. More

I visited the Costa Vella at Christmas time for a family reunion, and by the end of the week, the staff felt like family too. Powering the first-class personal service was Roberto, who is a lovely guy and, unsurprisingly, a regular marathon runner. Even on Christmas Eve, he was running around the place to make sure we were comfortable and... More

A 5-star experience at a VERY reasonably priced B&B. My wife and I booked a five day Christmas stay as it's our son's first Christmas day ever. Along came both sets of grandparents, an uncle, aunty and great-aunty. Coordinating the rooms, a cot, travel advice and even a buffet for Christmas Eve was all faultless. Easily handled before we got... More
