Although we didn’t stay at the hotel we had dinner (nine of us) in the main Restaurant Dos Reis and this was memorable in itself. The restaurant is in a big stone baronial hall, well lit and warmly furnished. It was full of comfortable customers: Spanish recession – what recession? A formal performance with good linen and a full well-trained... More

We are staying here for 2 nights at the end of a pilgrimage. The Parador is perfectly located next to the Cathedral and the old town. It used to be a hospital. The building, the courtyard and the restaurant are superb; we have a room on the ground floor directly overlooking the street. There is a very annoying bagpipe player... More

Let me start by saying, I loved this Hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future, but ... this is not a place to stay for the mobility-challenged. The promo-materials all refer to "lift" but I can practically guarantee that you will need to negotiate stairs to and from the rooms, and I saw no option to access the... More

Broken shower, no bath robes, old and dirty bath appliances & WC cover. Outside the room, everything is spectacular ... they seem to have enough business so they do not care .... there time will come ... More

Thank you to a previous reviewer for the suggestion to request a room away from the bagpipe player - a definite plus. This is a beautiful building, 500 years old and ideally situated in the main square next to the cathedral. We had a room on the fourth floor where there was an inexplicable smell of burning rubber. The room... More

stayed 3 nights at this 500 year old building transformed into a hotel, with mixed emotions. The position is perfect, right opposite St James church, and in the main square. Rooms are generous in size, with all the facilities needed. The building is like a museum, lots of character and history. Quality free wifi is a bonus, as is the... More

Perfect location but service/staff was below the standard one expects for such hotel. Plus rooms didn't have proper temperature control and the rooms were boiling hot. We were in a group of nine people in 5 different rooms and we all were disappointed with the service and staff attention during our two day stay. Staff overseeing breakfast gave guests the... More

Wonderful hotel which should be visited if you are in the area. Not the cheapest but the luxury is excellent and the view of the Cathedral is amazing, especially at night. More

We have visited about 10 Paradors so far and this is certainly in the top 2. On arrival he first impact is in the location, the magnificent square in front of the Cathedral. The Parador entrance is a magnificent Barroc portal and the check-in procedure was fast and competent. Our car was immediately taken from the main square to the... More
