I just spent one week in BCN, and have stayed at Hostal-Residence Barcelona. What I want to recommend are their clean room and quiet surroundings. Its location is not far fron the old downtown and near the metro station, Paral-lel, where you can find some groceries, internet coffee and restaurants. Moreover, it is quite budget to stay there!
