Got off to a bad start when we could't get to H. Amberes in our car using the map provided. We weren't sure if we were driving up pedestrian-only streets but past caring in the end and parked on the pavement. Then found the door was locked (it was 2.00pm) and there was a note (in German) pinned on it. Could have understood Spanish but don't speak any German. A guy in the street asked if we were staying there and obligingly phoned to get someone. 15 minutes later (on tenterhooks expecting a cop to arrest us for parking offences) another guy came down the street and it turned out he was the cook and would let us in (this all by sign language since he only spoke German).
OK, we were in the hotel at last. There's a pretty courtyard and the room was fine, bed very comfortable, bathroom looked posh. But there was no information and no one to ask.
