There’s something a bit incongruous about the Crowne Plaza. It is obviously designed to look like an ocean liner, but it seems to have washed up right alongside the frantic (and apparently very dangerous) coastal motorway, some distance from the sea, and sandwiched between residential streets of walled-off fancy villas and the usual strip restaurants – Chinese, Indian, Irish pubs.... more

Stayed here for 7 nights in August and had a very relaxing time. Had a hire car so able to visit Ronda, Gibralta, Mijas etc as all within about 1 hours drive. Although on main road traffic noise was not a problem. View from balcony over pool and out to sea was fantastic. Nice restaurants especilly Tinino? and Lebanese one... more

Arrived at the hotel as part of Time Share Package. Was met at Hotel Reception by porter who carried cases. Smooth Check out and friendly staff. Lovely reception area. Clean, Bright Room was excellent- 2 twin beds, fridge, mini bar, table and Chair. Bathroom with 2 sinks and very high standard. wet room. Little extras like dressing gowns, etc// Lovely... more

This hotel is a very well equiped high standard hotel and apart from £4.50 for a can of coke at the bar the main let down is the location , set beside one of the main roads into malaga you can't realy walk anywhere . The Crowne Plaza is in a fairly uninteresting location between Marbella and Estepona but the hotel is relatively new (2006) and very impressive. An excellent hotel with modern rooms and stylish decor. Staff were friendly and even booked tennis courts for us at the local tennis centre. Location could be better, several hotels within walking distance however the best day / night out is in puerta banus which came alive at night. Would definately go again. more

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of June. Although the hotel is 5 star, its surroundings are not. It is right alongside the N.340, the main Marbella/Malaga road, and the traffic never seems to stop. Having said that, once in your room you cannot hear the traffic at all so perhaps one might think I am complaining... more

So it was a little further than peurto banus than expected, and you have to drive about a mile down the motorway before you can u turn just to drive another mile back to it, which was a little tedious, however, once arriving in the hotel, the decor was fabolous, really really nice, the staff was friendly, and the hotel... more
