Hotel Ratskeller is a charming inexpensive hotel in the Plagwitz neighborhood of Leipzig, a short tram ride from the historic city center. We were really happy with the room, the service, and the pleasant residential neighborhood.
There is a restaurant on the ground floor, with an outdoor seating area. In the rear, there is a private parking lot (parking is complimentary) and a pretty little beer garden. There's a small refrigerator with soda, water, beer and juice which is free for guests! It was nice to come back in the evening and help myself to a free beer in the garden.
It's a small hotel with very personal service, but not so small that you feel like you need to get chatty with the staff (as in a B&B). Probably about 30 rooms. The room was furnished in basic style, but was comfortable and functional.
The one downside is that it's not right in the center of town, but there are three trams (no. 3, 13 and 14) which run regularly and the ride is about...
