- Accor Hotel Trier Porta Nigra

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in mid December as part of a coach trip. The location was just fine, the street leading to the town centre was only accross the road. The rooms, food and staff were all excellent! Everyone was welcoming and helpful, the bar staff were particularly pleasant and gave some good advice on where...

We booked a room without a view of Porta Nigra. The rooms with a view did have EXCELLENT views but since we were walking around most of the day,we didn't feel it necessary to pay the extra for the view. We did eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were able to really enjoy the fabulous view then. Our...

I visited Trier in 2004 as a budget conscious mature student so to return to this ancient roman city as a guest at the Mercure hotel was somewhat celebratory Christmas week. The more I visit Germany the more I love the genuine warmth of the people. Professional courtesy and hospitality go without saying. If to your taste, purchase a chilled...

This hotel is very well located and a very good surprise that exceeds other Mercure hotels I have stayed.
The room was large with a nice view, clean and with all comfort items needed.
The service is correct, although not very friendly, except for the housekeeping personel who were always smiling and trying to make you fell comfortable.
The breakfast...

I've stayed at some very mediocre Mercure's in Europe. Happily, this was not one of them.
Previous reviewer's comments that the outside doesn't match the inside are true. Outside it appears to be a bland, functional, cubical building. Inside, rather spacious and uncluttered. Large open lobby. Room was very nice. Also rather large with modern, but smart and solid, furniture....

I have been an Accor hotels club member for to years since traveling on business and after that have traveled on leisure. This hotel is the best of the Accor hotels I have stayed at since!
They accommodated my room to meet my family at the last minute.
The room was in superb condition.
I checked in fast which is...

We have stayed in this hotel twice now and have booked again for next August.
At first sight the hotel is rather ugly from outside considering the beautiful surroundings, but what it lacks in beauty its staff more than make up for. The staff speak excellent English and are very helpful and friendly.
Our room was on the 4th floor...

An older (20+years) hotel with low value for money factor. The location is very good but the
service level is very low. Everything is extra. It is not what You´re used to from booking an accor hotel.

We went with a group and had a superb room on 5th floor overlooking the Porta Nigra. Group travellers rarly get good food, but this was a welcome exception. Good, pleasant staff, large room but lacking a second chair so we 'stole' one from the hallway. Location first class for all shopping, museums, and trips on the Mosel River.
