If you are not used to traffic noise at night, avoid this hotel. We were on the top floor, and you could still hear it with the double glazed windows closed. i stayed at the hotel residenz in dusseldorf for 3 nights in december 2012 and for the money we paid we could ask for more the hotel is clean and well run. rooms are small but there is everything you need apart from thin pillows we had no complaints, breakfast was very nice with pleanty to eat.

Excellent hotel for a nice price. We got Haribo-sweets at our arrival, very German :p Our room was not very big, but it was clean and basically all you need. Hotel Residenz is situated just 5 minutes from Duesseldorf Hbf en about 15 minutes from the historic centre. Breakfast was especially nice, plenty of choice and plenty of food, excellent!

The Hotel Residenz is well situated for people arriving by train, as it is but a short walk from the main station (Hauptbahnhof), which has a direct service to to the airport terminal, with trains on route S11 every 20-30 minutes. Residenz is a rather basic, but centrally located hotel, on a noisy crossing and in a somewhat shabby neighborhood. Good to know: during large Fairs regularly taking place in the city most hotels are in heavy demand, and thus even the basic ones can then charge extremely high prices which do not in any way correspond to what you get!...
