Stayed for one night enroute to Amsterdam from Munich and wished we'd stayed longer. The hotel is a couple of blocks from Cologne's amazing shopping district (including LEGO store!) , as well as large, friendly bars owned by brewers of the local delilcacy, Kolsch beer. This hotel was very small (only 2 rooms on each of 4 floors) Although the stairs were steep, we didn't trust the elevator. Being small the Breakfast room was very small, and though a good food selection for the size, it wasn't as good as others we stayed at in Cologne. This hotel perfectly matched my childhood image of Germany. Super-clean, with cozy featherbeds, flowers in a window-box...they even give you little packets of gummi bears. The am Museum hotel is small but very friendly. The rooms are well furnished to a high standard and the hotel is situated right in the heart of the "old town" and just a stones throw from the Dom. More
