We stayed in this hotel several times when visiting the Christmas market in Cologne. Very nice, clean, very friendly and helpful personnel and nice pool/sauna! Some rooms/bathrooms are a bit small but for the rest nothing to complain about.

The hotel was like staying in a Travelodge or Premier Inn in the UK. Functional and clean. We didnt use the pool, and I can only assume thats where the 4 stars comes from. I couldnt see any other reason why this would be classed as a 4 star hotel.
We walked down from the train station along the river...

I stayed at Hotel Lyskirchen for 3 nights in April 2012 and although I couldn't find fault with the room or facilities, the front desk staff seemed surly and truly unhappy to be working at this hotel! The blonde girl on reception when I arrived at the hotel was downright rude to me upon check in and when I questioned...

We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel, in April 2012. We had a family room. There are pros and cons with this hotel, which are summarized in the following bullets:
A) Pros
- The hotel is close to the historical city center, it is 10' to go on foot to Dom, whereas it is 3' to go to Heumarkt,...

I stayed 1 night in this hotel in March 2012 to attend a conference nearby. Room rate was 130€ for a single room with breakfast and internet (both are at extra charge).
The hotel is conveniently located at the river Rhine pretty much downtown Cologne without actually being within the pedestrian areas, even though those are within walking distance. From...

Stayed here in winter 2011 on my first visit to Cologne with my partner and some friends. The hotel was very clean and modern throughout. Staff at reception were very helpful and spoke English which was useful considering our limited German skills. It's minutes walk from Heumarkt which we found to be the market with the nicest atmosphere (and some...

Stayed here on business for two nights during February. Nice clean hotel, good rooms and well located only a 10-15 min walk from the Dom, the breakfast was nice but VERY expensive. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere. The bar and lounge area was small and had zero atmosphere so, again drink elsewhere! The staff were very great --...

Ideally placed 3 markets within 10 minute walk. further two within 20 minute walk. 10 euro cab ride from station lots of local bars and restaurants.hotel was clean room comfortable and pool good. public space was limited but that wasn't why we were there. Great weekend and would stay...

Sauna but no tea & coffee making facilities (not even a communal machine)
Pool but no storage space in the room (plus was way too cold to use)
Air conditioning which was inneffective
Internet & breakfast way too expensive & clearly designed for expense account executives
There was a drain in the shower (which was next to the bed) which...
