This hotel is mediocre; it tries to be great, but feels too bland to be truly exclusive. The interior tries to look modern, but it's all cheap asian konck-offs. Instead you're left with a mediocre hotel, with really poor service and a great location. Favortie bits: the spacious room with balcony and hot tub. Least favorite bits: lots of construction... More

The male personnel at the reception were extremely rude and unfriendly. One would expect a more professional behaviour of a hotel which claims to have four stars. The rooms were simple, the beds and furniture cheap and used. The breakfast uninspirational. The "balcony" cold and uninviting. Have stayed at the Acara a number of times and keep coming back. The rooms are very 'modern German' - that is; does everything efficiently but lacks a little in personality!
