I walked by this hotel during a conference and made a reservation for the following week. The price quoted, which I had in writing, was not the price I paid. Upon checking out, I was forced to pay an additional 10%. The owner/manager insisted his colleague had made "a mistake" despite the written confirmaton. More

Hotel Heimhude is a small, apparently family driven hotel tucked away in a quiet street close to public transportation of various kinds. Ideal location for travelers who are visiting the University of Hamburg which is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel was excellent during a short stay. It is used extensively by a research institute across the road which I was visiting, and which highly recommended it. Don't let the website and the nice pictures of the hotel fool you. The location of the hotel is okay, rooms are clean,... BUT: 1. Mattresses are terrible, and I really mean terrible.
