The last time I was at this hotel was two years ago. It remains a favorite of mine, as I like the KuDamm zone very much - much more than Berlin-Mitte. Here there are a lot of trees and flowers, and restaurants and shops are all around you and the S-Bahn at Savigny-Platz or the U-Bahn or Buses at Bahnohof... More

My son and I stayed at Hotel Carmer 16 for 4 nights in July, 2010, as part of a 3-week vacation in Europe celebrating his high school graduation. This hotel was one of the best places we stayed during that 3 weeks. The rooms were large, well-furnished and comfortable. Ours looked out onto Carmerstrasse, which was nice in itself. The... More

If you like the quiet streets of Berlin, with lots of trees and near the S-Bahn, this is the hotel for you. The Kö is four blocks away and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We liked the high ceilings of our room, with two windows on the shady street. The breakfast was excellent, not taking into account the unfriendly... More

Found this hotel through Rick Steves' guidebook, and it was described appropriately: "may be dated, but very charming." Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were adequate in size and clean. Breakfast buffet had great selection. Set in a quiet neighborhood--if you're looking for hip and to be in the middle of major tourist attractions, this is not the hotel... More

This could not have worked out better. The hotel is on a quiet street within easy walking distance to bus and S-Bahn. It is in an area that is loaded with bars and restaurants. We especially liked Die Dicke Wirten and Die 12 Apostle. Our room was huge by European standards and the staff was most helpful and friendly. We... More

Stayed for three nights in November. The location is excellent, near to the Ku'damm and Zoo but in a quiet side street . Also next to Savignyplatz which has an excellent variety of restaurants. Would recommend the Zillemarkt (near Savignyplatz U-bahn) for echte German/Berlinisch food. And there are good bars on Kantstrasse and Savignyplatz. The rooms are very large (or... More

It may be an old hotel, but Hotel Carmer 16 has gone high tech, with futuristic room keys that unlock the doors by light, and hall lights that magically come alive as you stroll along. The hotel staff is personable, and the buffet breakfast is great. Located on a quiet, upper-class street, Hotel Carmer is none-the-less close to all the... More
