The hostel itself is really cool, and the staff were very nice. They helped up with trains and other info on the city. We are a couple and got a private room, but 2 seperate beds, this really wasn't an issue for us. The worst part is most of the rooms/windows face the courtyard, and we were up until 4am... More

4 of us stayed here and split our stay between in a private apartment in the same building as the hostel, and the private double rooms in the dorm part of the hostel. We actually had some trouble getting here because the U2 is closed for works. The website really should be updated disclosing that, or instructions sent on booking.... More

I stayed at this hostel 2 nights in October and had my first ever case of the bedbugs as a result. Although on the surface the place looks relatively clean, the thought of bedbugs crawling all over my body and biting me in the middle of the night is revolting. Would not recommend this place to anyone. More

This hostel was not a great experience for me and has alot of problems. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was 2 rooms of 4 with an adjoining door. I stayed at this hostel for 4 days. I stayed at a single room and it was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The shared bathroom was very clean and the staff is very friendly. It has a great location, close to subway stations, nice restaurants, bars and cafes. More

I was satisfied with the accommodation at this charming hostel closely situated to U-Bahn. We had a shared bathroom with some other couple. However, we were not troubled by that. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended. More

Having stayed previously in the IBIS Mitte down the road from the Alcatraz, I can say that the Alcatraz trumps the IBIS on accommodation hands down.
