Landed at Schönefeld airport some 45 min outside the city. Had arranged for a driver from the hotel to come and pick us up, and was driven to the hotel in what I think is a S-class Mercedes. We just returned from a five-day stay at this hotel. I get very, very little vacation time and the time I do take I have high expectations for. I really liked the Grand Hyatt Berlin. It is a modern, high tech, stylish and well located hotel. Opposite the large Potsdamer theatre and right in the heart of shops, cafes and restaurants the hotel is new and trendy. Spent two nights at the Hyatt. Location is handy for Potsdamer Platz area. The rooms are the nicest I have stayed in for a city hotel. A super-class hotel, placed near Postdamer Platz. The location is excellent for shopping and entertainment. The hotel is fantastic, everything from food to rooms deserves applauses. Sure, is a very expensive one - as long as I know, a room is around 450 euros. more

We spent 5 days vacation at the end of August., and then went on to Prague for business. Thoroughly enjoyed the Grand Hyatt. Excellent staff who were very helpful. We were surprised that a hotel built only 10 years ago would not have a lift directly to the pool level but such is the situation. That said, if this is not an issue for you, it was one of my favorite hotel stays. The rooms have wonderful tubs and it is fun to watch tv while taking a bath.... more
