I stayed at the Das hotel for a couple of days in December. The Hotel entrance is at the side of the street and the lobby is on the first floor. I found it to be a bit of a problem since i was carrying 2 big peices of luggage. There is a lift on the ground floor that takes... More

Das Hotel in München (old name Hotel Stefanie) is a cozy and affordable hotel. It is located close to the the university areas North of the city center. Marienplatz is about 15 min by foot. Of all hotels in this area I have been in, Das Hotel has on of the best price-quality ratios. The economy rooms are very small,... More

Staff very nice and helpful, breakfast very good, centrally situated on a very pleasant street, which is full of cafes and nice shops. Close to the Art Galleries, which are superb. Tram and subway services first class. We weren't too keen on the basic room, which has a tiny shower room, with a cheap folding plastic door. We saw the... More

Stayed for a weekend. To be honest the first impression wasn't too good, but in the end turned out to be ok. It's in a good location with lots of bars and restaurants. The room was huge and the bfast was amazing. I must complain about the noisy pipelines. You basically wake up whenever the person next door goes to flush... More

Located near the Pinakothek museums in a nice neighborhood, about a 15-20 min walk to old town center. We had 2 rooms--the double room was very nice, spacious. The single room was tiny, on top floor, hot in summer. Staff was helpful and the included breakfast was great, lots of choices. Overall, very good and reasonable rates. More

The owners have done a remarkable job in transforming an old 5 story building into an art nouveau hotel. I am taken by the helpful staff, art nouveau decoration, large comfortable room, complete breakfast with classical music on the radio. The owners have done a great job in transforming an old building in the Schwabing district into a fine hotel.... More

Spent 2 nights here during Oktoberfest. We were given a room on 5th floor in the attic. The lift only goes up to level 4 so if you are disabled/mobility impaired/have really heavy baggage, pre-book a lift accessible room. And the stairs are quite creaky; you feel like you are going to go through them at any moment! Room quite... More

My wife and I traveled down the "Romantic Street" through Germany and liked this little hotel so much, that we decided to stay for 10 days. Yes, the old hotel Stefanie closed, but was purchased by 3 very nice ladies and reopened as "Das Hotel" The rooms were completely renovated and each one is different from the others. The owners... I just received an e-mail that the hotel is closing on 31 March 2009. They didn't advise me that my reservation was cancelled, but responded with an automatic post to my request for a confirmation of reservation. More

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Stefanie in June 2006, during the World Cup. The room was spartan but clean, with a private bath and televsion. The breakfasts were included and were very good, with a selection of good food in a nice atmosphere. Good basic lodgings. More
