The hotel website does not represent hotel. We were greeted by a grumpy desk clerk who blew cigarette smoke in my face as I arrived. This was the welcome we recieved and was an indication of more to come. The smell of smoke was terrible. It wafted up from the courtyard and bar at all times. Made the hotel unbearable.... More

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. The hotel is on a side street so it's quiet. The room was clean with comfortable linens. The bathroom towel warmer was a nice perk. Pluses: location (really close to historic sites and centrum); reasonably priced (100 euros per room including a great breakfast); nice staff; good-sized room with big, comfortable bed. Minuses: bad pillows; no air conditioning; no free WiFi; nice HD TV with nothing much to watch.

Stayed for 4 nights here and the location was great. Equidistant from the historic city centre and Oktoberfest grounds. Great breakfast, quiet little street. Really quaint and you could tell it was family run with pride. They could really use some better pillows though, but I had that complaint everywhere in Germany that wasn't a 5 star hotel. Hotel Acanthus was found on Tripadvisor. Must say it was a perfect stay in Munich. Good location, within walking distance from the U-bahn, easy reachable with S-bahn from the Airport.
