Also stayed here for a conference at EMBL (to which is a pleasant walk in summer). The hotel is very nice, if a bit barren. The Bauhaus displays and art are very nice. For Heidelberg proper, it is in a terrible location. Staff friendly, food pretty good. Overall, for conferences, its okay. More

I stayed at the ISG for a conference at the EMBL centre. If you are going there the ISG is great as they do a shuttle bus straight there each morning. The rooms are "European minimalist" and very clean. The beds are small, the carpeting industrial, the work space adequate, the TV is tiny, but has a load of channels in German as well as CNN in English.
