I wouldn't rate the hotel as three star, as they position themselves. But the hotel is very good for two star. Convenient location: right in front of a bus stop. Bus to city center or railway station goes every ten minutes in daytime. I recommend to arrive to the hotel before 8pm, otherwise you can meet closed door. Anyway, they... More

Like another reviewer, I had intended to book the Deutscher Kaiser in Baden Baden centre and by mistake booked this one...D'oh that's why it was cheap! It was fine. Firstly if travelling by train you have to get the bus to Baden Baden anyway and this place is only a couple of stops further on. The bus stop is directly... More

This place definitely has its ups and downs. Our room was clean, but the bed was very uncomfortable. I think this is because it was old. I think that just about everything in the place was from the 1980s. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the center of Baden-Baden. We had beautiful weather, so the walk was... More

Although not in the centre of town, the hotel is still convenient and it's a lovely walk along the river to get there. Very traditional European hotel with no tv in the room, but plenty of character. We have stayed there 3 times now and found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. More

I stayed for two nights in the off-season in this hotel. It is not in the center of Baden-Baden, but is a nice 25-minute walk along the river into town, past a park and some gorgeous homes. The hotel is great value for the money. No, there isn't a tv in the room, but for the rate (we paid 42... More

We found this place through the Rick Steve's guidebook. It was OK. The hotel was nearly empty during our stay yet they put us up on the fourth floor with only old, deteriorating stairs to get to it. The room was average, though it lacked a shower. The shower and toilet were down the hall. The man who was manning... More

We stayed here in early July by suggestion from Rick Steve's .. it's a nice quaint hotel but about 15 minute bus ride away from center of baden-baden. The room size was large for a hotel in this class (this is a B&B type hotel or motel like in the US/Canada). We left early in the morning and only stayed... More

Inexpensive hotel (62 Euro), 15 minutes away from the center. The room was big, but everything (furniture, carpet) was rather worn out. The owner (Frau Peter) is unfriendly and scolding. Bad experience, not worth the money. More

Our expectations for this hotel were fairly low since we actually messed up on our reservation. We thought our reservation was for the Deutscher Kaiser on Merkurstrasse which is located centrally where all the main attractions are. However, to our surprise this inn was not as far from the town center and main train station as we thought. A quick... More
