This hotel and the quality and style of it's rooms are unparalleled at this price point! As if you are walking into the home of someone with immaculate taste in art and architecture, this was a favourite on our trip through France. With all this finesse, it still feels extremely comfortable to come back to after a long day sightseeing.... More

Incredibly cool, groovy apartment, in the heart of town, awesome place to stay, an oasis for our group of three. Excellent central location, atmospheric level 3 situation, can't find enough superlatives for this hip pad. The host, a local professional photographer, couldn't have been more helpful [if somewhat intense!]. Found it in Lonely Planet. A major highlight of the trip,... More

We got really lucky with this hotel, we made a last minute decision to spend a few days in Lyon and found this place quite by chance. We didn't realize we were not staying at a hotel but at a private apartment. When we arrived we were delighted by what we found! The room was in a very iconic building... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for just one night recently. I agree with other reviews that the host is very helpful - and gave us some good pointers as to what to see in Lyon. The location of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are very opulent and fun. The only issue for me was that the bathroom only... More

The Tour Rose is literally in the Tour Rose one of Lyon's most iconic buildings. Rising from a courtyard in the Old City the circular pink turret could not be more evocative of this under appreciated French city. The accommodation consists of apartments in the lower part of the tower. Our room overlooked the internal courtyard which is visited by... More

The host of Artelit is excellent, very knowlegable and willing to go the extra kilometer for his guests. He steered his jetlagged new arrivals to a local cafe and persuaded the owners to stay open a little longer to accomodate us. The decor is eclectic. The renovation of the medieval building has created a very interesting space, but unavoidably there... More

The hotel is situated in the old town which is absolutely charming. We stayed in the first floor loft and got a triple room. Cozy and the decor had a great artistic flair with the African statues and unique art pieces. It felt like I was staying in a artsy apartment. Frederic was a friendly and approachable host and shared... More

We had the "suite" which had a bed in the loft and a lovely sitting room below. It's probably not for anyone with mobility issues, as it is up two long flights of stairs. However, it's highly worth the climb. The innkeeper, Frederic, is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Old Lyon. Take the funicular up... More

We stayed in the Artelit 1565 room and it was lovely, very romantic and evocative of another age. The location is ideal, near to the metro and some great restaurants. Frederic-Jean is most charming, hospitable and informative. This is probably not really suitable for young children or anyone with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs but for... More

We agree with the recent reviews after our stay at Artelit. Looks lovely and it's delightful to be so central and right in the heart of old Lyon. Fantastic location and you get a real sense of living in the old town. The lofts installed to provide more space (and sleeping) are very common in the old town as you'll... More
