I was in Courchevel for new year 2010 in hotel Les Grandes Alpes. I was pleased from the polite and kind welcome in hotel and surprised and captured from the incredible position in front of the mountains. You can ski all the day and stop at the restaurant of hotel for a drink or for an excellent lunch in a... More

The hotel's location is great being in the heart of 1850. The small room we had faced the road with a poor view and was quite noisey in the morning wth lorry deliveries/rubbish collections. We asked to be moved to a piste facing room but were told none was available. The evening dinners were ok,but the wine cost was extortionately... More

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. Previously it has always been really expensive but fab. This year the sell-0ff of the restaurant had has terrible consequences - not that the food was ever that brilliant. It measn that hardly anyone uses the resuarant beyond the first night which means the bar is empty. Clueless bar staff. The entertainment... More

We have been skiing in Courchevel for a number of years and decided to stay in a more central location at Les Grandes Alpes this year with 2 other couples. Very pleasant family run hotel where the staff are charming but the restaurant is a disaster. It is apparently run separately from the hotel so the wines you can buy... More

The restaurant was fantastic before this year. How is it possible to pay a 4 star rate and to drink coffee from a thermos bottle ?? The restaurant staff is uneducated and argue constantly with each other loudly in front of the (not many) clients... great.. even my 2 year old daughter was shocked... on the hotel side, the water... Just returned from one week at 1850. The hotel is perfectly located. The staff are friendly and attentive. Our room was very very small, so we upgraded to a suite for an extra 200 euros a day. So by now we wre paying around £400 per night. The bar is excellent and service first class. Where it goes very wrong... More

We stayed here for 10 days in march 2009 and had a terrific holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size, very clean and modern. Location is perfect, ski in/out. There is a ski rental shop at the hotel, even if you do not hire from them/or bring your own they will keep your skis... More

I stayed here with my family for one week. It has a direct connection to the ski lifts. In fact you can just ski in and out of the hotel. Apart from the beautiful area, the hotel is as well very pleasant to stay. The breakfast buffet is satisfying enough and the dinner elegantly made. It is a pity, that... More

What a fantastic hotel! It's right on the piste in a great position for a very short walk or ski into the village. The staff from reception, bar, restaurant, housekeeping to the ski shop (managed by ski set), could not have been more attentive and friendly. The restaurant overlooks the slopes. Breakfasts were vast with an amazing choice. Dinner was... More

This hotel has location, location, location. Based right on the ski slopes with easy ski in / ski out onto the piste. As importantly though was the very high level of cleanliness in the rooms and the high quality food on offer. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I agree with the previous review though,... More
