A typical alpine sports hotel with plenty of French charm. If you are expecting something like a Holiday Inn then I suggest you book into a Holiday Inn. Personally, we prefer the character of this hotel which is conducive to the old town of Chamonix and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Combine this with the excellent food, the courteous and... So the hotel is not modern, comfortable yes, but could do with a make over. However, the food is on a parr with top restraurants in the UK and the chef produces top gastronomic delights. Evening meal starts with canopies and ends with Cheese, the other 3 courses were chosen at breakfast and included a great vegetarian choice. A selection... More

Ok, the hotel La Sapiniere has seen better days, but we had read the reviews and were prepared for that. The welcome we received and the service we had throughout our stay was first class. The food was amazing and wouldn't have been out of place in a posh restaurant. Our room was spacious and clean, and the views of... More

We stayed at La Sapiniere last week and had a fab time. Great location, lovely views and very near to the town. The hotel itself is slightly tired but the staff were so friendly, helpful and hardworking it didn't matter. Particular thanks to Rhys and Alice. The mixing of guests at dinner is a great idea, which meant you got... More

This is a hotel of two parts. The new and the old. DO NOT STAY IN THE OLD ROOMS. Our room in the old part was the worst I have stayed in since I was in a hostel in Tibet. Our room had dirty carpets - years old, radiator didn't work. Bathroom had mold and dirt in the cupboards which... More

Just had the pleasure of spending a week at the Sapiniere. This is an Inghams Chalet Hotel. It is very well run the staff are very professional, the food was excellent and well organised each night. Wine was very good considering what we were paying for the hotel and freely available. We stayed at a more expensive chalet in Val... More

We're currently staying at the sapinierre . Lovely hotel. Central to Chamonix so all ski resorts and shops within easy reach. Apart from the central Chamonix ski area which is aout 5 minutes walk away ou do need to get a bus to the other areas, but that's typical of the area and not related to the hotel position. Nice... Stay over 26/1/13 - 2/2/13. Booked with Inghams, couple, advanced skiers, double room, top floor, balcony with view. GOOD: -The staff made the stay feel like a 5* hotel, all young, professional, hardworking, genuine, friendly and personable. It is not a easy job! -Location is excellent for Chamonix, either ski from across the road to the nearest area, or 5... More

This club hotel run by Inghams is typical of the informal arrangements of a clubhotel - run by the operator and with a more relaxed atmosphere than a more formal hotel. The location here is really good, with just a short trek across the field in front of the hotel to access the drag lifts and the chairlift up to... More

I could go on for ages but in essence: GOOD:- 100% amazing location & views 100% amazing staff. You should be very proud of yourselves. 100% amazing food. Probably amongst the best I've eaten and I stayed last year in a 5* in Kitzbuhl with a michelin starred restaurant which was not as good as this. 100% most accomadating staff... More
