Excellent stay at the Ibis, St Charles, Marseilles. Would recommend. Good access, as located next to the station. Good-sized room. Helpful and welcoming staff. Pleasant restaurant with terrace and good-value fixed priced lunch menu. Area around the station is quite scruffy, though.

The hotel is near the tracks and on the same level to the St-Charles railway station which makes very convenient for railway travellers. The Ibis Marseilles Gare Saint Charles was in a fabulous location - right next to the station and a very short walk after catching the bus from the airport. This is a cheap(ish) and cheerful(ish) hotel that, it's probably fair to say, doesn't excel in any particular area - but nor does it really fail anywhere either. All staff were friendly, extremely polite, and more than accommodating. good was: it takes only 1 minute from train station into hotel. friendly reception staff, good restaurant (especially the dinner menu was good), nice breakfast with french crepes. to city center a 10 minute walk. subway station 3 minutes away. not so good was: usual ibis standrd interiour, pretty high prices in restaurant.

Great location beside the train station with friendly and helpful staff, and perfect for a night in transit – between trains or between a flight and a train. Th e location, convenience, value and services provided were perfect for our last night in France before flying back to California! I absolutely recommend this facility. The front desk was 100% accomodating and supportive of all our requests.
