We spent two nights in Hotel Jules Cesar in mid-March 2013. Our room was spacious and nice, with a very large and pretty tiled bathroom. The staff spoke English and were helpful. The location is very good, just a few steps to the pedestrian historic center, yet easy to drive to. We were able to park our car in front... More

The hotel looks really imposing from the outside, however it is badly signposted and hard to find when driving along. It is well set back from the main road. The enormous hall and salon look very imposing, but everything seems a bit tired and in need of some refurbishment. Our bedroom had loads of character with Provencal furnishings, but the... More

I was here with a tour group and our dinner and breakfast there was very good. There is a small swimming pool out back and a beautiful and peaceful inner courtyard. It is right across the street from the Roman ruins, so I feel it was an excellent starting point for our walking tour of Arles. There is a large,... More

Jules César, was very well located. Rooms are basic but their garden seems nice and the main lobby as well. Employées were mostly very kind and helpful. For sure that hotel needs a renovation but if you get a good deal, you shouldn't hesitate... You got to try their resto..The menu is a bit pricy but have to try once.... More

This hotel has big issues, rooms are very poorly kept, paintwork, bed coverings and fixtures. Beds are poor quality and are fitted with rubber mattress protectors, similar to those used in hospitals. Air conditioning is turned off in autumn so if you have a warm room you stick to the bed. We rang the front desk about the air, they... More

Although it is very centrally located, the hotel does not live up to their website or brochure My main poins of dissappointment are the following: very old property, not renovated since a very long time, uncomfortable beds, only 1 key per room, plastic, chairs at the pool, very average breakfast buffet.

We were lucky enough to have room 72 - a junior suite - for two nights in October. We wanted to visit the Camargue and also Arles centre and this was the perfect location. As has been stated by previous reviewers, the hotel is a converted convent and has its own chapel next door. Also valet parking is available -... More

Jules Cesar in Arles This is an “Elizabeth Taylor at 70” hotel. Once beautiful but getting a bit faded, yet showing old traces of former glory. We had stayed here 27 years ago when it was at its elegant prime. Now its getting frayed at the edges. Missing tiles in the bathroom, broken handles, a very limited breakfast with paper... More

The first positive impression from the grand facade and old-fashioned vast hall vanished as soon as we entered the corridor leading to the rooms. The place looked ancient and extremely tired, as if there were no renovations or any improvements for the past 50 years or so. There is even no elevator! The room looked like a pilgrims' hostel -... Location is best for sightseeing town of Arles. The dinner and breakfast was great except they really over charge for wines. Service and Room was worst for our entire trip in Provence. Our air-conditioning did not work and we put in a complaint but no one bothered to acknowledge the problem. We could have been just happy, even if they... More
