The title says it all. The beautifully restored bastide (by the owners themselves) is beautiful along with the grounds (and huge infinity lap pool) but what makes it truly special are Francois and Marie. If you are in Provence, you MUST stay here, even if AIx is not on your itinerary. More

I wish to thank my fellow reviewers for such complete and accurate descriptions of this lovely B&B. Marie and Francois do make Pavillon a special place to stay. I repeat what many others have said: warm welcome, help with suitcases up the stairs, spacious rooms and very spacious, clean bathrooms, fun and friendly happy hour to visit with the hosts... More

Pavillon de la Torse is everything that a B&B should be! From the moment that we arrived until we sadly departed, Francois and Marie made us feel like guests of the family. Upon arrival, they helped us carry our bags--a service not often encountered in B&Bs. At 6:30 PM, they served a happy hour that included wine, Champagne, pastis, and... More

We had the pleasure to stay at Marie and Francois's B&B in April. They welcomed us with open arms and gracious smiles. We found the B&B via trip advisor after our travel agent let us down. The appeal of there home started when we spoke with them over the phone a six weeks before we travelled and extended to the... More

We had the good fortune of finding ourselves at Pavillion de la Torse in early January. We were lucky that the Pavillion was open. It was quiet and peaceful even as the January temperatures in Provence were mild and pleasant. Pavillion de la Torse has a lovely setting on the outskirts of the old center city. It is surrounded by... More

This beautifully restored home is stunning inside and out. Set on the edge of Aix-en-Provence, a pleasant 20 minute walk from the center of town with its lively main street and colorful market, it is perfect as a base for exploring Provence. Easy day trips to Cassis, Arles, the Luberon and more. Marie and Francois are experienced world travelers and... More

Marie and Francois are fantastic hosts at a fabulous property. When you first drive into Aix en Provence you may think it is just another city. A short walk from the hotel and yo are in the old city with charm and ambience. Great restaurants await and very friendly people. More

We have stayed in many B&B's in many countries and this was one of the most charming and gracious. The 18th century home was completely and lovingly restored a few years ago, so one gets all the charm of old with the convenience of new. The pool and gardens are a special treat. Every morning and afternoon we opened our... More

Obviously a review is subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion - so I hope that our opinion is taken in the spirit it is offered - ie to share our perspective. Having read the many TA reviews, we were really looking forward to our 2 night (minimum prescribed) stay at Pavillion de la Torse. It was the first... More

We are sorry that we have had guests who were under whelmed during December and January. As noted, it is the first time open for the Christmas Holidays. It is impossible to create the same ambiance at Pavillon de la Torse that one would find during our normal April to November season. Yes, we have more than 60 plane trees... More

We visited in September 2011 and weather in Aix was still warm & we had the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful pool at Pavillon de la Torre. Marie and Francois were extremely helpful and gracious. They provided us with dining and day trip suggestions which were all proved to be great suggestions. One evening they also hosted a happy hour... More
